Cape Breton Island and particularly The Highlands are a kaleidoscope of colour in the fall but also a "Winter Wonderland".
Winters start late here, around the end of December, January brings lots of snow and winter activities but we still have the brilliant blue of the Atlantic. February arrives and Winter (as the old timers around here say has settled in)
We get lots of snow, and hills such as Smokey, have their own equipment and are plowed during and after storms.
Our Cabins are located right on the trails to the highlands, for cross country, downhill and back country skiing, and you can Snowmobile off into the hills right from your verandah.
There are numerous warm up trails on our seaside property for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
March is still a winter month here and with it comes the Ice Flows, from here you can hike, snowshoe or cross country ski down to the ocean and marvel at the arctic seascapes extending to the horizon, as far as the eye can see.
Come and enjoy the great outdoors in our Winter Wonderland or just make a winter getaway and relax in front of the fire in our warm cozy cabins. |
